Ocean Breeze's

When I last posted (a while ago, before an onslaught of Nursing Exams and other courses) We had just gotten our first taste of winter with just enough for snow for some serious rock skiing. Between then and now I have a lot to inform you with.

For starters by Saturday, November 8th  we got enough snow to let us go skiing up a the mountain! An Awesome some way to start November I should think!! We spent the morning skiing around, before having the whole team jump in the van and drive down to Portland for the MWSC Fundraiser! This event was a great way to get the entire team together and try and raise funds, and a great excuse to try and get us all to dress up in something more than workout cloths! (It was business Causal, which proved to be surprising hard for me to  to find an outfit out of all my Vermont Academy clothes that wasn't to formal! Talk about weird problems!)

The next day we all piled back into the van and took a ferry to the island of North Haven! The Ferry was a long one taking almost an hour to get to the small fishing island of the coast, but the views where well worth it!

The actually race was not large, and was the MWSC crew and a lot of the Maine College Nordic teams (Bates, Colby, UMPI, Bowdin, and perhaps one or two more I can't remember). The race was skate, and a 15 kilometer loop around the around. No lapping! It was was a great course a good mix of rolling hills and flat areas. Along with the views of the ocean and the island being great! It was quite the race course!

At the end of the day the MWSC had a great showing! With Kelsey winning, with Katrina and I right after and Maddie right behind us! The boys did well themselves(But you'll have to ask them yourself how they did I forgot already). More to come on Thanksgiving Camp in the County and the tons of snow and training that is getting done!
